Glynnda Lynn Peckenpaugh
Age 80 of Morris, Illinois, died Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Serenity Estates of Morris, in Morris, Illinois.
Born August 30, 1945, in Ottawa, Illinois, Glynnda Lynn was a daughter of Glynn and Virginia (Ingles) Meier. She was raised and educated in Morris and graduated from Morris Community High School with the Class of 1963. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, William Peckenpaugh, on September 28, 1963, in Morris, and together they shared many devoted years of marriage.
Above all else, Glynnda was a loving wife and mother who cherished time spent with her family. She also dedicated many years as a clerk at Liberty Street Health Mart in Morris, retiring in 2000.
In 1970, Glynnda and her husband were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses through the Kingdom Hall in Morris, where she remained an active and faithful member for many years. She generously volunteered much of her time conducting free Bible studies and sharing her deep love of the Scriptures with others.
Glynnda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, especially the Bible, and loved sharing a daily pun whenever she could. She also enjoyed playing video games, particularly Super Mario Bros. on the Wii during Monday night game sessions. Cherry pie and evenings spent laughing with family over Mario Bros. were among her favorite things.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Peckenpaugh of Morris; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; Richard D. (Jan) Peckenpaugh of Katy, Texas and Merle D. (Myra) Peckenpaugh, Jr. of Delray, West Virginia; one sister-in-law, Linda Peckenpaugh of Lewiston, Idaho; two nephews Rob and Rick and niece, Karen as well as several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Glynnda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brothers-in-law Norman Peckenpaugh and Robert, as well as one sister-in-law, LaVonne "Bonnie" Vigna.
Per Glynnda’s wishes, cremation rites are being accorded.
