Grace E. Hutton

Age 90, formerly of Coal City and Shorewood, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet.

Born December 11, 1924 in Long Point, Michigan. Grace Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Maurice and Cora (Shananaquette) Fenner. She was raised in and educated in Topinabee, Michigan, and on November 10, 1947, Grace married Clarence R. Hutton. She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City. Grace loved to garden and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her children: Sharon (Roy) Merkel of Tamaroa, IL, Delores (Jack) Bajt of Manhattan, Patricia (the late James) Alsip of Channahon, Geraldine Hutton of Joliet and Mary (Greg) Hill of Joliet; Seven grandchildren: Curtis (Kelly) Alsip, Corey (Danielle) Alsip, Tracey (Ben) Bish, Kristy (Justin) Genis, Stephanie (Bill) Condon, Adam (Felicia) Hill, Alyssa Hill, Chris (Donna) Merkel and Emilie (the late Clinton) Merkel; five great grandchildren: Evan Alsip, Delaney Alsip, Jillian Alsip, Lana Genis and Bailee Merkel, with another expected, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence, and one son-in law James Alsip and one grandson Clinton Merkel.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015  from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City . Reverend  Robert Noesen will officiate.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Grace will be laid to rest with her husband Clarence.
