HELEN ALICE HOKE

Age 85 of Mazon and formerly Joliet, passed away Wednesday October 12, 2005.

Born December 11, 1919 in Westville, Illinois, Helen was a daughter of the late Charlie and Pauline (Janosik) Sayon. She was raised and educated in Westville and graduated with the Westville High School Class of 1937. Helen was a veteran of the US Navy. On March 30, 1946 Helen married Harold Hoke in Leonardtown, Maryland and throughout her life she had resided in Westville, Illinois, Patuxent River, Maryland, Casper, Wyoming and Joliet, Illinois prior to moving to Mazon. Helen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., The Veterans Auxiliary, Charter Member of the Women's Memorial, former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Crest Hill and she was a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Helen was employed by Joliet Federal Savings until her retirement in 1984. She loved to bake.and was dedicated to her family.

Survivors include her loving children: William B. Hoke of Joliet and Deborah A. (Ralph) Brooks of Mazon. Six grandchildren: Traci Logan, John Logan, Emalee Hoke, Sherrie Phillips, Sandra Brooks and Shawn Brooks. Two great grandsons: Brandon and Jacob Phillips, one brother Carl (Mary) Sayon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as special friends Becky and Ken Presley and Mary Roy.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Harold and son Dennis E. Hoke both in 2004, brother Joseph Sayon and sister Stella Kettman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 15, 2005 from 1:30PM until time of funeral service 3:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (One block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rev. Jerry Dusenberry from the First Christian Church of Wilmington will officiate.

Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: John Logan, Ralph Brooks, Shawn Brooks, Ken Presley and Larry Gerovac.

Preferred memorials as gifts in Helen's memory may be extended to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
