Henry "Clayton" Williams

Age 82 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday July 9, 2006 at his home.

Born November 16, 1923, Clayton was a son of the late Henry and Vera (Sanders) Williams. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII and achieving numerous accolades and medals. Clayton retired from the Carpenters Union Local #174, and was a member of the Malcomb J. Mayo Post VFW in Wilmington. He served as deacon and trustee of The First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington and in his spare time, Clayton loved to garden, remodel his home and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Ellen (nee Leach); two sons: Jim (Beth) Williams of Wilmington and Ron (Cindy) Williams of Carterville, Illinois. One daughter Ellen (Bill) O'Keefe of Frankfort; Three grandchildren: Heidi (John) Moss, India Williams and Joy O'Keefe. One sister Farrell Abel of Carterville and five great grandchildren: Alex and Trysten Moss and Matesen, Shelby and Allissa Ceci, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, grandson J.T. and great granddaughter Dallas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Funeral services will follow on Wednesday July 12th at 11:00AM in the funeral home with Pastor Ray Jones officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Clayton's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Kuzma Care Cottage.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington.
