James Joseph Pavelek

James Joseph “Pav” Pavelek

Age 60, of Coal City, Illinois, and formerly of Marseilles and Willow Springs, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2026.

Born on December 2, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, James was the beloved son of Ellen "Micky" (née Lornaitis) Pavelek of Willow Springs and the late James M. Pavelek. He was raised in Willow Springs alongside his siblings and graduated from Nazareth Academy with the Class of 1985.

James was a proud member of Painters District Council 14, Local 147, and dedicated many years to his trade. Outside of work, he was a passionate Chicago sports fan who faithfully cheered on the White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks.

He is survived by his mother, Ellen "Micky" Pavelek; his children; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Pavelek.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
