Age 74 of Diamond died Monday, June 9, 2025 at Morris Hospital.
Born December 11, 1950 in Aurora, Illinois, Jim was a son of James Sr. and Caroline Ona (Juline) Wilson. He was raised in Chicago and worked at Telstar Plating until 1989. He and his life partner, Shirley Domrzalski raised their family in Diamond thereafter.
Jim was an avid video gamer and owned an extensive collection of games. He thoroughly enjoyed watching movies especially action films. He was a lover of music and one of his favorite bands was Dire Straits. Jim was a simple man but he liked what he liked.
Survivors include his life partner Shirley of 48 years; two daughters: Chasity Smith and June Wilson of Diamond; two grandchildren: Kayleigh Hullett and Zachary Shrove of Diamond; one sister: Marie Kucera; one sister-in-law: Rose (Bob) Miedl of Tipton, Iowa; Nieces: Laura (Allan) Polidario of Round Lake, Illinois and Jennifer (Christopher) Jennings of Palos Hills, Illinois; Nephews: George Luzuriaga and Frank Luzuriaga of Berwyn, Illinois.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Roberta Ona Luzuriaga, Carol Kotlarsky and Ruthie who was separated from Jim as kids; and best friend Steve Swartz.
The family will receive friends at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway in Coal City on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded at the conclusion of the services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts to the family for their disbursement.
