Janice L. (Tomsheck) Ziller

Age 74, of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away April 4, 2023, in her home surrounded by family and friends. 

Jan was born on February 5, 1949 in Wilmington, Illinois, to Joe and Blanche Tomsheck. She wed Tom Ziller on June 17, 1967. They were married forty years, until his death on July 17, 2007.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two siblings--Jim Tomsheck and Joann (Chuck) Bray. 

She is survived by three children: Tom (Christy) Ziller of Wilmington, Illinois; Miki (Doug) Wesley of Saint Joseph, Illinois; Joie Ziller (Mike Scagnelli) of Wilmington, Illinois; and one sister, Jeanine Griffith of Silver Peak, Nevada. 

Jan leaves behind three grandchildren: Shelby (Timothy) Eaker of Coal City, Hannah (Tyler) Worley of Muncie, Indiana, Sam Wesley of Saint Joseph, and one great-grandson: Jameson Thomas Eaker. 

Jan graduated from Wilmington High School in 1967, married the love of her life, worked many jobs, and the most rewarding other than being a wonderful Mom to her three children, was being a school bus driver for the Wilmington and Elwood schools for 34 years. Family was always Jan's number one priority and she enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She loved horseback riding and going on trail rides with her friends. Jan also made beautiful quilts and was quite the perfectionist when it came to sewing. 

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. 

Preferred memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
