Jeremy Scott Mandat

Age 35 of Wilmington, Illinois, formerly of Braidwood, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023 at his home.

Born March 23, 1988 in Joliet, Illinois, Jeremy is the son of Rhonda Parker Mandat and Michael Mandat. He was raised in Braidwood and graduated from Reed-Custer High School in 2007, where he was a member of the wrestling and football teams. Jeremy worked for R-Place Restaurant in Morris, Illinois, and in his spare time he took great pleasure in fishing and spending time at the Meneoka and Braidwood Recreation Clubs. He was also a car enthusiast, especially enjoying pickup trucks. Jeremy was a kind, helpful man that was always there when someone needed any help, and he had recently began attending Christian Faith Center in Wilmington. His family meant everything to him and he treasured his niece and nephew, who were precious to him.

Survivors include his mother, Rhonda Parker Mandat of Wilmington, and his father, Mike Mandat of Custer Park, Illinois; his sister, Alex (Zach) Zinanni of Crown Point, Indiana; his maternal grandmother, Lois "Midge" (Joel) Buza of Hebron, Indiana; two uncles: Mark (Melissa) Parker of Port St. Joe, Florida, and Rob (Liz) Buza of Wilmington; and his special niece and nephew: Brantley and Braelyn.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William "Booke" Parker.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jeff Urban will officiate, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Those who cannot attend Jeremy's services in person are invited to join the live stream service on Thursday, which can be found on his memorial page.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeremy's memory may be made as gifts to the family for their distribution.
