Jill (Proffitt) Anderson

Age 66, of Symerton, Illinois, formerly of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Born on June 3, 1959, in Joliet, Illinois, Jill Ann was a daughter of Jimmy Wallace and Marilynn Jane (Cupples) Proffitt. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1977. On November 15, 1990, Jill married Phil Anderson in Bridgeview, Illinois, and together they built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories.

Jill worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for more than eleven years, retiring in 2012. She was also active in her community and served as a Village Trustee in Symerton.

In her free time, Jill enjoyed bowling, cooking, and gardening. She had a special love for animals and always enjoyed having them around. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pride in being a grandmother.

Jill will be remembered for her easygoing nature, her dedication to her community, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Survivors include her four children: Philip Justin "PJ"  Anderson of Joliet, Illinois, Marty (Gina) Enz and Patrick (Amanda) Cowie, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Amy (Tracy) Kinkin of Braidwood, Illinois; grandchildren: Mikayla, Miles, Zoey, Jaxen, Nolan, Bennett, Marcus and Kaitlyn; three sisters: Shelly (Mark) Molle, Wendy (Mark) Kahler and Pam Proffitt; brother-in-law, Larry (Leslie) Anderson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as her furry friends: Honey, Max, Sally, and Callie.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil Anderson, and one sister, Peggy Decker.

Per Jill's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 9:00 a.am. until the time of the celebrant service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts to the family for their distribution.

Cremation and memorial arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory (815/476-2181)
