Age 38 of Coal City, passed away Saturday morning, April 21, 2018 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Born April 9, 1980 in Berwyn, Illinois, Jimmy Ray is a son of James and Teresa (Virella) Kerr of Diamond. He was raised in Cicero and attended Coal City High School.

Jimmy was a proud father of two, and will most be remembered by his time spent with his kids.

Survivors include his parents; one son, Dylan Kerr of South Wilmington and one daughter, Desirae Kerr of Braceville. His maternal grandmother: Margaret Head of Hodgkins, Illinois, and aunts and uncles: Sheila (Bronco) Bovich of Morris, Gloria (Billy) Longmire of Woodridge, Johnny (Lisa) Kerr of Coal City and Jimmy (Cathy) Kerr of Braidwood, as well as numerous cousins.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Billy Head and paternal grandparents: William Kerr and Ovalina Minton.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

In lieu of flowers --- preferred memorials requested by the family may be made to the Funeral Care Fund (Appeal for Donations linked to this obituary). No donation is too small and your support is greatly appreciated.
