Joseph Conforti

Joseph Michael Conforti

Age 47 of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Chicago, Illinois and Wilmington, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona.

Born October 31, 1975 in Berwyn, Illinois, Joseph is a son of John and the late Carolyn (nee Brandon) Conforti. He was raised on the South Side of Chicago until his family moved to Wilmington, where he would graduate from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1993. Joe attended Eastern Illinois University and later gained employment at The United Center in Chicago where he worked in the box office. He then relocated to Nevada where he worked for a time at Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Joe then worked for Tesla Automotive Company as a materials handler, and he had recently moved to Arizona to be closer to his daughter, Siena.

Joe was a passionate sports fan starting from an early age. He played basketball and was a die-hard Wilmington Wildcat fan. Joe's fandom included Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and especially the White Sox, who gave his greatest sports memory when they won the World Series in 2005. He was also an avid concert goer and lover of live music.

Joe was an intelligent, hardworking man who was always willing to lend a hand and help anyone in need. His most cherished role in life was being dad to his daughters, and he doted on his girls and made every effort to be a great father and caretaker to them. Joe will be dearly missed by his family and friends who adored him, and he could be summed up with five simple words: Loving, Compassionate, Witty, Family, Dad.

Survivors include his father, John Conforti; his former wife and supportive mother of his children, Rachel Conforti of Phoenix, Arizona, and one daughter, Siena Conforti of Phoenix, Arizona, who both remained by his side until the very end; one brother, Dave (Kristen) Conforti of Carol Stream, Illinois; and his niece and nephews: Kaylee David, Gionni Conforti and Dante Conforti.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Conforti; one daughter, Sabrina Conforti in 2021; one brother, Johnny Conforti in 1989; grandparents: Alex and Madeline Conforti, and Jewel Thompson; as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and the family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 9:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Joe's family asks that donations be made to establish a scholarship fund for his daughter, Siena or for donations to theater organizations in memory of his daughter, Sabrina.

Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guest book, upload photographs, and share Joe's memorial page via social media.
