John Burbulys

Age 57 of Aurora passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at AMITA Health Mercy Medical Center in Aurora.

Born October 11, 1963 in Chicago, John Richard a son of Victor and Wanda (Powilat) Burbulys. He was raised and educated in Chicago and graduated from the Chicago Christian Academy with the Class 1981.  Prior to moving to Aurora, John volunteered at The Pointe at Morris nursing home. John was an active member of Hope Church in LaGrange and lover of Christ his savior. He enjoyed singing and dancing and was most known for singing “Happy Birthday” to everyone. John could always be caught complimenting friends, family, and even strangers.

Survivors include his father, Victor of Glen Ellyn; brothers: Pete (Renee) Burbulys of Morris and Paul (Grace) Burbulys of Texas; step-sisters: Laney (Ron) Hately of Hinsdale and Cheri Westergaard of Arizona and nieces and nephews: Hanna Burbulys of Morris, Rachel (Colton) Bjorklund of Minnesota, Daniel Burbulys and Allison Burbulys both of Texas.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda on May 9, 2007.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Reeves Funeral Home 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services, 2:00 p.m. Face masks requirements and measures of safe social distancing practices will be in order, and the funeral home staff will assist the family not to exceed the safe number set forth for the visitation.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, where John will be laid to rest with his mother.
