John Wesley Anthony

John Wesley Christian Anthony, born October 2, 2003 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois. John was affectionately called by his family and loved ones “Johnboy or J’dub”. He attended Collins Little Cottage Daycare as a toddler, Charles Reed Elementary School, Minooka Jr. High School and Minooka High School District #211.

John had an infectious smile and his memorable laugh lit up every room where he shared it.  John loved all sports.  He knew the stats of just about every sports team and player. He enjoyed basketball, # 3 was John’s jersey number.

In John’s earlier years he was considered everybody’s comedian, entertainment and dance partner.  He was the life of our family gatherings.  He was an amazing helper, always willing to go to the store when we needed more food or drink for our big family times together.

He was a hard worker and found ways to creatively increase his income from Arby’s, Jewel Osco and one of his most lucrative adventures was “Gaming” which some of his favorite video games included Fortnite, NBA 2K, & Madden NFL.

John was dependable, reliable and had a heart of gold. He was very caring and considerate. John loved family prayer times and was led to the Lord by his parents at the age of ten. He was baptized at a Christian youth camp.  The love of God flowed through him to others.  He would give away his clothing, shoes, and stop to buy items for strangers who were on the street and in need.   He was not only his sisters’ defender, but their rock and beat up toy. John was adored by his sisters and affectionately referred to him as “YOU BUM” meaning “beautifully uniquely made” a name given by their father if they wanted to name-call.

John leaves to cherish forever in our hearts, impacting our future, his parents John & Deborah, siblings, Jada, Kirsten, Kylie, Karis, Joriah, his grandparents, Bernice (Maurice) Welch, Maria Crawford, Morris (Faynell) Crawford, a large host of aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents, fr-amily and friends. We are comforted by John’s decision to follow Christ, trust he is enjoying being in the presence of the Lord and we will see him again.

John Wesley Christian Anthony’s loss is felt by us all.
We want to say thank you to everyone for your thoughtful concern, your prayers, cards, donations, flowers, calls and all.
His life here on Earth is done, memories can be brought up in recall; as a call to action unfolds for all of us to behold.
Your kind words and sympathy are felt by us all in your endless empathy.
Thank you.
