Joseph G. Donovan

Age 68 of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Bolingbrook Adventist Hospital in Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Born May 27, 1955 in Blue Island Illinois. Joseph was welcomed as child number seven to Thomas Donovan and Mary Ann Donovan and raised with love in Oak Lawn.

Joe will always be remembered as a gentle and kind soul who loved his music, horseshoes and his family. In his later years, he found great comfort in his faith and wouldn’t dream of missing mass on Sundays.

Joseph is survived by his former wife Bonnie Donovan of Colorado and 8 brothers and sisters: Therese Ann (Barry) Bernier, Irene (Patrick) Cavanaugh, Maureen Laslie, Sharon (Kenneth) Johnson, Kevin (Cindy) Donovan, Kathleen (Eddie) Vargas, Colleen (Rick) Grabenhofer, and Darren (Jennifer) Donovan; as well as twenty nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Leonard Donovan, Raymond Donovan, Brian Donovan, Mary Kay Smith, and Donna Maddix; and one nephew, Robert Laslie.

Cremation rites have been accorded and Joseph will be laid to rest at St Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park with his parents and siblings. Graveside memorial services will be announced at a later date.
