Age 27 of Morris, passed away from injuries received while on active duty in Iraq on Thursday November 10, 2005. Born July 03, 1978 in Spring Valley, Illinois, Josh is a son of Gerald R. "Jerry" (Genevieve "Jeannie") Terando and Linda S. (Smith) Terando. Josh was raised in Spring Valley and moved to Morris in 1990 where he graduated from Morris Community High School in 1996. Josh was employed as a welder from 1996 to 1998 and was enlisted in the US Army from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2005 Josh was a member of the Boilermaker Union Local One in Chicago and worked as a Boilermaker Apprentice.

Josh returned to the Army in June, 2005 and was deployed to Iraq in August, 2005. He served as Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division (MECH).

Josh's service duty included HHC 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; HHC 3rd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division; HHC 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry and 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division.

Josh was a member of the American Legion Post 294, enjoyed his family and friends, all types of music, and bocce ball.

Josh is survived by his parents; one sister Amanda Terando of Morris; his maternal Grandparents Alvin and Lois Smith of Peru and Aunts and Uncles: Loretta Forden of Washington, Joseph (Nancy) Terando of Spring Valley, Louise Terando of Morris, Darlene Terando of Aurora, Patricia Terando of Spring Valley, JoAnn Harrison of DePue, Laurence (Diane) Terando of Mansfield, Michael (Lorraine) Terando of Mark, Timothy Smith of Hawaii, Paula (Jay) Castelli of Batavia and Thomas (Tina) Smith of Peru. Two stepbrothers: Allen (Sandy) Borchert of Morris and Anthony Mazza of Plant City, Florida and one stepsister Karen White of Joliet, as well as Nephews and Nieces: Kyle Terando of Morris, Scott Borchert of Morris, Heather, Michael and Samantha White of Joliet; and his special friend Nikki Roth of Morris.

Josh was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Joseph and Anna Mae Terando, Uncles John Terando of Morris, Leonard Terando of Aurora, Donald Terando of Spring Valley, Roger Harrison of DePue, William Forden of Washington, and Aunt Irene Terando of Spring Valley.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2005 between the hours of 2:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (1 Block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Monday, November 21 at 10:00am in Standing in the Word Ministries, 2480 North Illinois Route 47 (2 miles south of the Illinois River) in Morris.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Aaron Terando, Ed Cockream, Ranulfo Villalobos, Dwayne Yager, Dave Flynn, Josh Woehr, Mark Delaney, Akiva Silver, Tyler Stevenson and Joe Willson.
