Joyce Joanne Rodriguez

Age 70 of Elwood, Illinois, formerly of Burbank, Illinois, died Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.

Born December 7, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, Joyce was the daughter of Robert and Betty (Hope) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Chicagoland and graduated from Reavis High School in Burbank. On September 25, 1976, Joyce married Daniel Alexander Rodriguez, and together they made their home in Burbank until relocating to Elwood in 2004.

She worked for Century 21 Circle for 15 years in Oak Lawn and Plainfield, and was a member of Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park. Joyce was fortunate enough as a young woman to travel the world with her parents, creating memories she treasured for her entire life. She enjoyed crafting and was always working on a different project, whether it was crochet, painting, or DIY projects. Above all else, Joyce was a kindhearted, generous woman who loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

Survivors include six children: Jonathan Rodriquez (Tara Heine) of Elwood, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Rodriguez of Diamond, Julie (Robert) Erdmann of Elwood, Daniel (Nancy) Rodriguez of Joliet, and Kevin and Ryan Rodriguez (Tiffany Garcia), both of Elwood; twelve grandchildren: Steven (Sarah Head), Matthew, Nicholas, Amber, Chloe, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, Madalynne, Hailee, Leo, Olivia, and Connor; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Rodriguez; one brother, Paul (Bonnie) Johnson; and three brothers-in-law: Bob, Rich, and John Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block north of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service, and Joyce will be laid to rest with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
