Katherine L. Lamping

Age 82 of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at AMITA Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Katherine Louise was born on January 25, 1940, a daughter of Robert E. and Faye E. (Davis) Lamping. She graduated from St. Rose Grade School and was a member of the 1958 graduating class of Wilmington High School.

Katherine held several jobs throughout her career, but retired in 2008 from a State Farm Insurance Agency as well as Fashion Bug, both in Champaign. Following her retirement, Katherine moved back to Wilmington, where she was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. 

Survivors include her sister, Helen Lamping of Wilmington; brother, William and Lori Lamping of Clifton; sister-in law, Harriette Haley of Manhattan; sister-in-law, Barbara Lamping; special nephew, Andrew Lamping; special niece, Sarah Lamping; nephew Robert Lamping; niece Kathy Jordan, and numerous great nephews, great nieces and great great nieces and nephews

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: George, Leo and James, and a nephew Clarence Allen Lamping.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington on Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2022 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will follow on Monday morning, April 11, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 S. Kankakee Street in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Sebastian Gargol presiding, assisted by Deacon Jay Plese.

Katherine will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington.
