Kathie Sue Spreitzer

Age 70 of Blackstone, Illinois and formerly Morris, Illinois died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Born February 9, 1952 in Morris, Kathie was a daughter of LeRoy Wayne and Gloria Maxine (Fraley) Harrington. She was raised in Morris and graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1970.

Kathie loved the outdoors, camping and animals. She also took pleasure in writing poetry and singing. Kathie will be remembered as a true ‘people person’ who cherished family.

Survivors include her husband, John Spreitzer, whom she married July 16, 2001 in Ottawa; one daughter, April (Johnny Boy) Crawford of Gardner; two grandchildren: Johnny III and Vada Crawford; sisters: Sharee Beeler of Mazon, LaRae Cotter and Cynthia Lyne, both of Morris, Michelle (Pete) Lake of Chenoa, Heidi Harrington of Streator and Stacie Cortez of Morris, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Gloria Harrington; sister and brother-in-law, Tricia and David Edmunds; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Beeler and Doug Cotter; nephew, Timothy Cotter; niece, Keri Andrews, and great nephew, Brighton Garretson.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow in Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Morris. Deacon William Dunn will preside.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kathie’s memory to her family for their distribution.
