IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kay F.
Francisco
January 12, 1948 – November 29, 2025
Kay Francisco, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Coal City, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of love, nurturing care, and quiet grace. Born on January 12, 1948, in Joliet, Illinois, Kay was the cherished daughter of Dr. Karl and Gloria (Sitar-Veerman) Sitar, who preceded her in death.
She grew up in Joliet, where she attended St. Paul's Grade School and St. Francis Academy High School, forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. For 35 wonderful years, Kay shared her life with her devoted husband, Mark, whose unwavering love, kindness, and steadfast support sustained her through all seasons of life. Mark was not only her partner but her greatest champion, standing by her side with tender care and devotion. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the deep peace that comes from true companionship. Their love story was one of quiet strength, mutual respect, and the kind of enduring affection that inspired all who witnessed it.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Mark Francisco; her devoted daughters, Meghan McKeon-Moreno and Zora (Josh) Kiest; her stepsons, Todd Francisco (Kathleen) and Dusty Francisco (Danielle); her cherished grandchildren, Isabella Moreno, Sophia Moreno, Joseph Pursell, Lauren (Ryan) Brewer, Kaela Francisco, Kiley Francisco, and Katherin Smith; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sally (George) Pfoertner and Susie (Max) Koeski; and her sister in-law, Debra Smith.
Above all, Kay found her greatest joy in the simple, enduring pleasures of life. She took immense pride in her garden, where she spent countless hours nurturing plants and flowers with the same tender care she showed to everyone who knew her. A devoted animal lover, Kay opened her heart and home to animals in need, particularly her beloved Ferrell cats, who knew her gentle touch and compassionate spirit. Kay will be forever loved and missed by her family and loving husband. Her gentle spirit, her nurturing hands, and her capacity for unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory forever blooming in the gardens of our hearts.
