Ken “Nono” Facchina

Age 75 of Elwood, Illinois, passed away on December 18, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

Born June 8, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois, Kenneth Roy was a son of Leonard and Delphine (Pagnusat) Facchina. He grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School with the Class of 1965. Ken was a talented electrician and gained employment with General Electric in August 1971. He continued to work for G.E. in Morris for the following 40 years until retiring in November 2011.

Ken enjoyed working on projects around his home, and he especially enjoyed the outdoors. Ken happily spent many days watching his grandchildren play various sports, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In recent years he truly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Jackson Township Sportsman’s Club. Ken loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Suzanne (Peck), and daughters, Gina Mantia and Kristina Corcoran, all of Elwood; four grandchildren: Gage, Zach, Gillian and Gavin, and three siblings: Leonard, Jr. (Joan) Facchina, Richard (Nora) Facchina and Dolores (Barry) Schraeger.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Delphine, and his son-in-law, Bob Corcoran.

His family loved him dearly. They will always hold him deeply in their hearts, as he will be forever missed.

Per Ken’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Thursday morning, December 22, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N. Chicago Street in Joliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am with Fr. Timothy P. Andres, O. Carm. presiding.
