Kevin Michael Orr
Age 37 of Wilmington, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.
Born July 10, 1982 in Euless, Texas, Kevin is a son of Michael J. Orr and Julie (nee Forsythe) Boris. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2000. Kevin worked as a sheet metal worker in the HVAC industry before entering into the United States Army, where he served in Afghanistan. Following his honorable discharge, he gained employment with Schneider Logistics.
Kevin attended a local small group bible study with Families of Faith Ministries. He enjoyed music; was a drummer, and played in local bands. Kevin enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a huge fan of the Chicago White Sox. One of his more memorable moments was being honored on Military Day, the 4th of July 2008, when he threw out the first pitch of the Sox home game.
Survivors include his parents: Julie (John) Boris of Wilmington and Michael Orr of Morris; one son, Keenan; siblings: Nicholas (Tracey) Orr of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and Haley (Aaron) Brandt and Alec Orr, both of Morris; nieces and nephews: Alexis, Joey, Grace, Cannon and Kinley; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Dobra of Tennessee; aunts and uncles: Lester (Carolyn) Forsythe, Ronald (Mary) Forsythe, Susan (Mike) Roach, Delana (Steve) Needham, Kelly (Daumont) Valentine, Linda (Mike) Born, Michael (Janice) Boris and Robert (Eileen) Boris, and the mother of his son, Jennifer Orr of Wilmington.
Kevin was preceded in death by his step-mother, Donna Orr; grandparents: Lester Forsythe, Thomas Orr, JoAnn Hernandez and Michael and Mildred Boris; uncle, Sean Orr; aunt, Carol Boris, and his cousin, Sean Valentine.
A private family visitation and service will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Caleb Gougis will officiate. Those wishing to participate in the visitation and services remotely are welcome to log on to the live stream webcast available on Kevin’s Memorial Page.
The live stream visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening and continue until the start of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m.
Thank you for your understanding of the State of Illinois Public Health Guidelines. The web stream options assist the family not to exceed the safe number set forth for the visitation and service. It also provides a measure of safe social distancing practices. Kevin will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

A celebration of Kevin’s life and full military honors will be planned for a later date.
