Age 32 and formerly of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.

Born March 16, 1988 in Joliet, Illinois, Kevin is a son of Gail (Glenney) Wallen and Dr. Lawrence C. Wallen, Jr. He was raised in Wilmington, attended St. Rose Parochial School and graduated from Joliet Catholic Academy with the Class of 2006. Kevin was a compassionate young man, who always had a wonderful sense of humor. A true people person, Kevin was always a happy guy who loved his family. He will be remembered for his charming smile.

Survivors include his beautiful daughter, Keelie; his mother, Gail Wallen and his father, Dr. Lawrence Wallen, Jr. (Francesca), both of Bonita Springs, Florida; two brothers: Dr. Larry Wallen, III (Dolores) of Ft. Myers, Florida and David Wallen (Majel) of Springfield, Virginia; one sister, Dr. Christine Wallen (Ace Kuklin) of Venice, Florida; one niece and four nephews: Daniel, Andrew, Elizabeth, Lawrence IV and Matthew, and several aunts and uncles, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dan and Ruth Glenney and Lawrence and Millie Wallen.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2020 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday morning, August 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 604 S. Kankakee Street in Wilmington with Reverend Marcin Michalak presiding. Face masks requirements and measures of safe social distancing practices will be in order, and the funeral home staff will assist the family not to exceed the safe number set forth for both the visitation and service.

Inurnment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington, where Kevin will be laid to rest with his grandparents.

A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Kevin’s life is also being planned in Bonita Springs at a later date.
