Larry W. Simons

Age 74 of Morris passed away Tuesday September 2, 2014 at his home.

Born April 27, 1940 in Lincoln, Illinois, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mary Kerr-Simons. Larry was raised and educated in Lincoln and where he graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1958. He would go on to receive a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in 1965. On June 30, 1963, Larry married his beloved wife Patricia Ann Cochran. They would go on to make a home in Morris, where he was employed by Shabbona Middle School for seven years as a teacher. Following teaching, Larry would go on to become self-employed doing automotive interior repair for 15 years. He will be remembered as a life-long Saint Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Pat; one son: Gregory (Karen) Simons of Columbus, Indiana; three grandchildren: Megan and Jessi Simons, both of Columbus, Indiana and Andrew Simons of Round Rock, Texas; three siblings: Jerry (Ann) Simons, John (Linda) Simons and Brenda Simons, all of Lincoln, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Mark Simons, and two siblings: Judy Langley and Jim Simons.

Per his wishes, cremations rites have been accorded.
