Laura R. O’Keefe

Age 35 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Romeoville.

Born November 6, 1985 in Chicago, Laura Rose is a daughter of Rosemary (Cox) Cowe and Joseph Ingram. She was raised in Chicago and Tinley Park, and graduated from Victor J. Andrew High School. Laura worked as a CNA, most recently for Aperion Care in Wilmington. On December 14, 2017 she married Thomas John O’Keefe in Joliet.

Laura found great peace in being outdoors camping, hiking, or being near the water, and enjoyed her travels to see the Great Smoky Mountains in Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother, and she took great pride in raising her daughter and being a stay at home mom in recent years.

Survivors include her parents: Rosemary (George) Cowe of Tinley Park and Joe Ingram of Wilmington; husband, Tom O’Keefe of Wilmington, daughter, Crystal Rose Ingram of Wilmington, sister, Jackie (Matt) Stahl of Tinley Park, mother-in-law and father-in-law: Donna (Jim) Stack of Willow Springs and John O’Keefe of Justice; several aunts and uncles, including David (Shirley) Ingram of Wilmington, and numerous cousins, including Shellie (Mike) Schroedle-Fuentes.

Laura was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her step-mother, Kathleen Soave.

The family will receive friends for a COVID observant visitation on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Laura’ memory to the family for their distribution.
