Laura Smith

Laura Helen Smith passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 with her parents Daryl and Jane Smith lovingly attending to her. She was born September 21, 1979 and lived her entire life in her home in Wilmington, IL.

Laura attended Trinity Services Day Program, where she enjoyed the staff and clients. She also enjoyed traveling, stories, movies and her many friends. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition, smile and unconditional love.

Besides her parents, Laura is survived by an aunt and uncle, Joy and Lee Jacobs and her cousins: Sara and Geof Jacobs-Carter, and their children: Vivienne, Lilith and Grace; Chrissy and Mitch DeJarlais, and their children: Madelyn and Jacob, and Amy Jacobs and Jay Ludwig, and their daughter: Brianna; and Alison Jacobs.

She is also survived by her second family, Dale and Sherry Wells, their children: Aaron, Travis, Dustin, Shawna, Brandon, Andrea, Kimberly, Shalene, and their families.

Laura is preceded in death by her uncle David Smith, and her grandparents: Lester and Margaret Schroeder and Charles and Helen Smith.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 4:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will follow the services, and Laura will be privately laid to rest in Peotone Cemetery with her grandparents at a later date.
