Laverne P. Lovell

Age 89 of Rockville Township, Manteno, passed away Sunday morning May 11, 2008 at his home.

Born March 19, 1919 in Wesley Township, Laverne was a son of the late Archie R. and Gladys J. Franklin-Lovell. He resided and farmed in the Rockville, Township area his entire life and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center and the Kankakee Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife Alice Lovell (nee Green); one daughter Gladys (John) Meyer of Manteno; two grandchildren: Donald (Mary) Meyer of Urbana and David (Donnette) Meyer of Kankakee; one great granddaughter Allyson Meyer, and one sister-in-law Loretta Long of Manhattan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Laverne was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Francis (Margaret) Lovell and Gene (Phyllis) Lovell and his brother-in-law Francis Long.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2008 between the hours of 3:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Funeral services will follow on Wednesday May 14th, processing from the funeral home at 9:45AM to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM. Rev. Gerald Schubert will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Laverne's Memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center or to his family for distribution to charities of their choosing.
