Lee Bivens

Age 65 of Morris, Illinois, died peacefully Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Morris Hospital.

Born June 9, 1960, in Morris, Lee was a son of Donald and Ruth (Derby) Bivens. He was raised and educated in Mazon, Illinois, where he graduated from MVK High School.

Lee began his career at the ExxonMobil Oil Refinery in Joliet, Illinois. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to the position of supervisor and worked faithfully for 39 years before his well-earned retirement. Lee was an avid sports enthusiast who particularly enjoyed hockey and soccer. In his free time, he found happiness in running, biking, gardening, and coin collecting. Though quiet by nature, Lee possessed a warm and playful sense of humor that endeared him to those who knew him well. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving companion: Kathy Watters of Morris; three stepsons: Matthew Watters, Kyle Watters, and Sam Watters, all of Morris; two brothers: Barry (Sue) Bivens of Mazon, and Randy (Athena) Bivens of Prosper, TX; one sister-in-law: Martha Bivens of Camden, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Carroll Bivens and Donald (Ruby) Bivens.

Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded, and the family is planning a memorial for a later date.
