Lee Demere III

Age 50 of Braidwood, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Morris Hospital.

Born August 10, 1970 in Morris, Lee Roy is the son of Laura Davis and the late Lee Demere, Jr. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1988. After graduation, Lee served in the United States Army during Desert Storm and was honorably discharged in 1992. He was currently employed by Chicago Aerosol in Coal City where he had worked for the past eight years, and was a talented artist who loved to draw. Lee was also a big Star Wars fan and enjoyed football, especially the Pittsburg Steelers.

Survivors include his mother, Laura Davis of Braidwood, one daughter, Jeanette Demere of Wilmington, two aunts: Jo Ann (Herman) Bower of Charlotte, Tennessee and Jessie Davis of Wilmington; and his two beloved cats: Smokey and Gambit.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents:  John and Mae Waligora; and maternal grandparents: Wes and Mary Ellen Howard.

Per Lee’s wishes, cremation rites are being accorded, and inurnment will full military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
