Linda S. Flowers

Age 70 of Wilmington, Illinois died Tuesday October 17, 2023 at the Parc of Joliet.

Born May 6, 1953 in Clearwater, Florida, Linda Sue was a daughter of Herbert Daniel Kimbrell and Anna M. (Walters) Reynolds. She was a graduate of Ridgeview High School in Colfax, Illinois.

Throughout the years, Linda worked in various positions from being an EMT to serving in Civil Air Patrol. She held employment with General Electric in Bloomington, Whitmore Ace Hardware and Precision Components, Inc. (PCI) in Wilmington, and most recently Vision Logistics in Bradley from where she retired.

Linda served on the Wilmington School District Board of Education, was a member of the Women of the Moose, and exercised her civic duty as an Election Judge. Linda also enjoyed assisting Mayor Tony McGann in his mayoral campaigns.

One who loved gardening, both vegetable and flowers, Linda will be remembered as an exceptional crafter.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Parker Wilkerson of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Aaron Wilkerson (Katie) of Mazon and Carley (Keegan) Davis of Alton, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Madilynn Wilkerson and Raelynn Wilkerson, and three brothers: Herbert Daniel (Donna) Kimbrell, Richard Ray Kimbrell and Mark Clem.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her former husband, Robert E. Flowers.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service 12:30 p.m.

Inurnment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, where Linda will be laid to rest with her mother.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Linda’s memory to Gentiva Hospice.
