Lisa Dome

Age 53 of Wilmington, Illinois passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2024 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born December 7, 1970 in Berwyn, Illinois, Lisa Marie is a daughter of Edward and Patricia (Meier) Bednar of Downers Grove. She spent her formative years in Downers Grove, graduating from Downers Grove South High School in 1988. Lisa was currently employed with the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Wilmington.

Lisa was a soul who found joy in exploration; she adored traveling and found solace in the worlds created by books and crochet needles. However, above all else, Lisa cherished her family. Her dream of motherhood was beautifully realized through her three beloved children – Joseph, Shela, and Emily – as well as her precious granddaughter Weylen. Those who knew Lisa will forever remember her infectious laughter, warm presence, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

Survivors include her parents, Edward and Patricia Bednar; three children: Joseph (Jessica) Dome and Shela (William) Fey, both of Coal City and Emily Dome of Wilmington; her siblings: Edward Bednar, Gerald Bednar and Julie (Troy) David; grandmother, Shirley Bednar and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lisa was joined later in the afternoon on March 28^th by her granddaughter, Weylen Rae who passed away at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois.

The family will receive friends for a visitation for both Lisa and Weylen at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Pfotenhauer from Bethel Lutheran Church of Westmont will officiate.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Lisa’s memory to the family for their distribution to local charities of their choosing or to a charity of the donor’s wishes.
