"DEE"

Age 73 of Geneseo, Illinois and formerly Wilmington, passed away Tuesday May 02, 2006 at the Hammen-Henry Hospital in Geneseo.

Born February 21, 1933 in Arcola, Illinois, Dee was a daughter of the late Harold and Juanita (Cooper) Hammer. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Business College. Dee worked for the Caterpillar Union, and then the US Government (UniRoyal, Corp), having retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. Dee loved reading, old movies and Bermese Glass, and greatly enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her two sisters: Sharon (Alva) Griest of Kankakee and Karen McKnight of Joliet; One Nephew Stephen (Margaret) Griest of Aurora; One Niece Karessa (Denny) Huber of Oundle, England; Two great Nephews: Tanner and Hunter Huber; Three Cousins: Sandra (Dave) Brown, Phyllis (Spice) Spicer and Carol Ruth and one Aunt Mildred Cooper of Chrisman, Illinois.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 05, 2006 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (Two Blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will then follow on Saturday May 6th at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Rev. Heidi Olson from Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Dee's memory to the Diabetes Association or Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington.
