Margery Small

MARGERY A. SMALL

MAZON - Mrs. Margery A. Small passed away peacefully on a Sunday of Pancreatic Cancer at the Palm Terrace Home in Lakeland, Florida. She was 84.

Born in Morris, Illinois on March 03, 1922, Margery was the only daughter of Earl and Geneva (Isham) Overly. She attended school in Mazon.

On June 29, 1941, Margery married Donald A. Small. Together they lived and farmed in the Verona area for 43 years. After retirement, the couple moved to Mazon. The past 23 years they have been winter residents of the Lakeland, Florida area.

She enjoyed doing sewing, mending and baking for her family. Even though Margery was hearing impaired, she had taught herself to play the organ.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don on December 01, 2005.

She is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Doug Nelson. Three grandchildren and their spouses, Doug and Jacque Nelson of Chicago, Dan and Kathy Nelson of Coal City and Rob and Wendy Sherman of Goose Lake. Four great grandchildren, Ryan Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Sydney Sherman and Madyson Sherman.

Cremation rites are being accorded per Margery's wishes, and a private service at Ward Cemetery will follow at a later date.
