Martin S. Kiss, Jr.

Age 65 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born April 21, 1950 in Linz, Austria, Martin Steven was a son of the late Martin and Anna Maria (Mayer) Kiss. He moved with his family to the United States at the age of two and was raised and educated in Chicago. Marty went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force. He was currently employed with USF Holland in Joliet since 1999 and formerly worked for NationsWay Transportation (1990-1999). He was a member of Teamsters Local #179; previously Teamsters Local #710, and belonged to the Texas Masonic Lodge. Marty was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Jean, whom he married June 27, 1992; two daughters: Anna (Mike) Stocum and Erin Baric, both of Florida; one son William (Morgan) Kiss of Fontanafredda, Italy; step children: Barbara (John) Coff of Indiana, April (Warren) Sutton of Joliet, Jamie Lejsek of Wisconsin and Christine Kiss of Wilmington; (16) grandchildren: Zachary, Nikolas, Allyson, Kathryn, Ethan, Erik, Chance, Crystian, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Keegan, Connor, Shawn, Benjamin, Cloey, Nicholas and Martin; one great grandson Oliver; five sisters: Caty (Jim) Kearney of Lockport, Marianne Kiss and Mary Helen Kiss (Frank Rollins), both of Hazel Crest, Sue (Ken) Hafer of Michigan and Betty (Jim) Sulhoff of Georgia, and one brother John (Mary) Kiss of Hoffman Estates.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents and one son Martin (2012).

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family memorial will be held.

Inurnment with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois
