Age 70 of Wilmington, formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Morris Hospital.

Born January 30, 1949 in Oak Lawn, Martin Wayne was a son of Walter and Edna (nee Yingling) Lindish. He was raised and educated in Oak Lawn, and graduated from Oak Lawn High School with the Class of 1967. On September 26, 1976, Marty married Carol Ann Cain at First Presbyterian Church in Burbank.

He was employed for 30 years with General Motors Automotive in LaGrange Park where he was a material expeditor. Marty was a member of the United Automobile Workers Union, as well as the Oak Lawn Raiders SAC, a local charitable organization to benefit the community of Oak Lawn.

His greatest passion in life was camping. Marty loved to spend his time camping at the Lake Point Camping Resort in Wilmington, and at Lake LaDonna in Oregon, Illinois. He also enjoyed watching television and supporting his favorite Chicago sports teams: the Blackhawks, White Sox, and Bears.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Carol Lindish of Wilmington; four children: Rebecca (Sean) Kerrins of Tinley Park, Jennifer Lindish of Frankfort, Kevin Lindish of Chicago, and Richard (Cheryl) Cain of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters: Kaycie Liptak and Drew Kerrins; two sisters: Loretta (Tom) Renslow of Alsip, and Darlene (Thomas) Gracious of Joliet; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings: June (Russ) Boersma, John (Mary) Lindish, Bud (Louise) Lindish, and Violet (Julius) Fassel.

Per Marty’s wishes, his body will be donated for scientific study.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
