Mary Glagola

Mary A. (Langheld) Glagola

Age 63 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her home.

Born February 22, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois, Mary Alice was a daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Gibson) Langheld. She was raised in Lockport and graduated from Lockport Township High School with the Class of 1973. Mary worked at Angelo’s Sporting Goods Center in Wilmington for many years, and recently finished her career with PetSmart in Joliet, where she was the Salon Manager and a groomer.

Mary was a fantastic cook, and loved to bake, especially cheesecake. She enjoyed bike riding and had many memorable trips to the mountains, as well as Florida. A homebody at heart, Mary loved the holidays and her greatest joy was getting her family together.

She is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Richard C. Glagola, whom she loved very much; four wonderful daughters that she was so proud of: Theresa R. (Brian) Buckler-Tino of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Onawa M. (William) Shepherd of Wilmington, Christine R. Mays of Henderson, Kentucky and Jennifer L. (Jack) Hofmann of Wilmington; (12) grandchildren: Lauren Buckler-Tino, Abigail Buckler-Tino, Eleanor Buckler-Tino, Mason Meister, Kole Shepherd, Kassie Shepherd, Joshua Kucera, Nichole (Charlie) Smith, Raeanna Mays, Jack Hofmann, Makayla Sundine and Allison Hofmann and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Trenton Smith, all whom she never got to see enough; two great brothers, George A. (Mary) Langheld of Mokena and Elmer E. “Gene” Langheld, stationed in Sudan; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Ruth Langheld of Marion, Illinois, Tim (Dawn) Glagola of Wilmington and Ellen Kay (the late Don) Schemel of Hinsdale; numerous nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart, and cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws that rounded off her extended family. Many friends and co-workers also survive, all of whom made Mary the person she was, just by touching her life. Not to forget her loving companion Ditsy.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving parents: Elmer and Lillian Langheld, her biological parents, Lewis Ingram and Mary VanHoy and her mother and father-in-law, Evelyn (Hesse) and Charles Glagola.
