Michael Wilburn

MICHAEL H. WILBURN

Age 33 of Braidwood and formerly Wilmington, passed away Wednesday June 29, 2005 at Provena St. Mary's Medical Center in Kankakee, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 12, 1971, he is a son of Jerry and Margaret (Shepherd) Wilburn. Mike was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the class of 1989 and Joliet Junior College in 1992. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington and was an avid sportsman. Mike greatly loved his family and was dedicated to his work at B.A.S.F. Corp. in Channahon, where he was a Senior I&E Design Coordinator

Survivors include his loving wife and children; Stacy (Fitzwater), whom he married in 1992 and Malorie, Gavin and Aaron. His parents, brother Mark (Denise) Wilburn and sister Jenna, all of Wilmington. One nephew MacKinley Wilburn, three nieces: Kourtni, Meghan and Gabrielle Fitzwater; his maternal grandmother Margaret Shepherd of Wilmington; mother and father-in-law: John and Carol Fitzwater of Braidwood and two brother and sisters-in-law: Scott (Angela) Fitzwater of Braidwood and Shane (Kristin) Fitzwater of Texas, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A private family visitation took place at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington and per Mike's wishes, cremation was accorded.

Mike's family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday July 16, 2005 from 10AM until time of memorial service 12:00 Noon at the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington, 401 E. Kahler Rd., Wilmington with Rev David Lagos-Fonseca and Rev. Shirley Pulgar-Hughes officiating. A luncheon will then immediately follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
