Age 81 of Tinley Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 1, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Wilmington, Illinois.

Born October 2, 1939 in Chicago, Nancy was a daughter of John and Sophia (Steudle) Wagner. She was raised and educated in Chicago and went on to marry Frank Anthony Ziomek. Nancy waitressed for many years at Les Brothers Restaurant in Oak Lawn and most recently worked as a private caregiver. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn; held her religion close to her heart, and had the ability to bring out the faith of others.

A very caring, loving soul, Nancy possessed a great sense of humor, and was always one who was there for others in need. She enjoyed baking; music (especially from the 50’s), and was an exceptional dancer in years past. Christmas and the holidays were always special times for Nancy and nothing was more important than her time with family, and the how deeply she loved her granddaughters.

Gone from our sight, Nancy Ziomek leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that those who knew and loved her, will carry with them for years to come.

Survivors include her children: Karen (Dennis) DeHaan of Wilmington and Frank (Ellen) Ziomek of Orland Park; granddaughters: Lorelei Pacourek, Leigha Ziomek and Julia; one niece, Linda Miller of Oak Lawn, and two nephews: Wayne (Ashley) Miller of Alabama and Warren (Jeanette) Miller of Tinley Park.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; daughter, Christine Ziomek; granddaughter, Lyndsey Pacourek, one brother, John Wagner and one nephew: Wayne Wagner.

Per Nancy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and she will be laid to rest with her late husband Frank in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

Those wishing to join together for the cemetery committal services officiated by Nancy’s nephew, Pastor Wayne Miller, are welcome to assemble at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. Services are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made as gifts in Nancy’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
