Nick Dziuban
Age 37 of Lockport, Illinois, formerly of Wilmington, Illinois, died Monday, February 2, 2026 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born December 15, 1988 in Joliet, Illinois, Nicholas Michael is a son of Joseph and Patricia (Benson) Dziuban. He was raised and educated where he excelled at athletics and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2007. Nick continued his education at the University of Saint Francis where he received a Bachelor's Degree in History, and also attended Aurora University for his Educator's Certificate.
He was a proud Wilmington Wildcat, working for Wilmington High School as the Building Trades instructor and was deeply involved in their athletic programs. Nick was the Head Coach for the wrestling program and Head JV Baseball Coach for Wilmington High School, as well as the Head Baseball Coach for the Middle School. Nick took great pleasure in woodworking, using his skills and his CNC machine to create many beautiful wooden projects for himself and his friends. He was also quite the outdoors enthusiast, where he loved bass fishing, hiking, and overall adventure.
Nick loved history and would often make stops at historical locations on every vacation he and his wife took. He continued to play sports after high school, competing in adult softball leagues that allowed him to travel the country. Nick was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan and was especially fond of country music. His love of family will be his greatest legacy, being an integral part of his nieces and nephews' lives. Nick was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Amanda, whom he married on April 29, 2022, and again on November 11, 2023, because they loved each other just that damn much. He was so excited to be a father and to share his big heart with his daughter, Kennedy Rose, whose heartbeat was his favorite sound in the whole world.
Nick's life was a blessing to his family, his friends, his students and athletes, and anyone's path he crossed along the way. He will be dearly missed, but will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda (Parson) Dziuban, and their daughter, Kennedy Rose who is expected in June of 2026; parents: Joseph and Patricia (Benson) Dziuban of Wilmington, and his father and mother-in-law: Bob Parson and Janet (Mark) Haberkorn, both of Lemont, IL; his brother, Chester "CJ" Dziuban of Wilmington; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rick (Lisa) Bernas, Bobby Parson, and Dwayne Parson, all of Lemont, IL, and Nicole Haberkorn of Winfield, Indiana; eight nieces and nephews: Charlotte, JJ, Maddie, Kevin, Matthew, Richard, Avery, and Carter; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his beloved dogs: Maddie Girl and Gatsby.
The family will receive friends at the Wilmington High School Gymnasium, 209 Wildcat Court, on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish to join the services online can log onto the livestream, which can be found on Nick's memorial page at www.BaskervilleFuneral.com
