Nicole Naomi Holm

Age 40 of Diamond, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 17, 2021 at her home following a 2 year battle with cervical cancer.

Born March 29, 1981 in Morris, Illinois, Nicole Naomi is a daughter of Keith and Susan (Sistek) Holm. She was raised in Diamond; graduated from Coal City High School, and entered into the Illinois National Guard while attending Illinois State University. Nicole went on to graduate from Joliet Junior College with a degree in Culinary Arts and worked as a Chef. She held employment with Nettle Creek Country Club in Morris and most recently was the head chef at Broken Arrow Country Club in Lockport. She was active with Phi Theta Kappa and belonged to the Illinois Region Alumni Association (IRAA). Nicole also coached for Special Olympics, which she held such passion.

One who was always determined to try new things, Nicole had a lifelong love of animals, cherished her bearded dragon Yoda, and took great pleasure in attending concerts, camping and playing Bocce ball.  In her free time she enjoyed video gaming, anything Star Wars, and reading. Her creativity in the kitchen carried over at home, which she used as her test kitchen, and countless memories were made at the annual “Grandma Cookie Day”.

Gone from our sight, Nicole leaves behind priceless memories to those whom she loved and those who were fortunate to be touched by her life.

Survivors include her parents, Keith and Sue Holm of Diamond; one sister, Heather Holm (fiancé, Rein Stinson) of Addison; her maternal grandparents, Bob and Mariella Sistek of Diamond; uncle, Bob (Jodi) Sistek of Minooka; great aunt, Merlanne Louney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her cousin, Corrie (David) Timmons of Seneca.

Nicole was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wesley and Loretta Holm and one great aunt, Margaret Vigliocco.
