NORMA JEAN JACKMAN Age 72 of rural Gardner, passed away Monday July 04, 2005 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, Illinois.

Born November 12, 1932 in Coal City, Norma was a daughter of the late Chris and Theresa (Burla) Born. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1950. On April 20, 1952 Norma married Melvin L. Jackman in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. For many years she worked as bookkeeper for Jackman Farms and Trucking. Norma was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years Melvin; one son James R. Jackman of Gardner; one daughter-in-law Madeline (Bill) Willet of Coal City; two grandchildren: David and Devan Jackman of Gardner; three sisters: Vivian (Bill) Finn of Coal City, Eileen (Melvin) Mill of Florida and Thelma (Larry) Wickman of Carbon Hill and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a longtime friend Joann Daniels.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one son Melvin William Jackman (1997).

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held Thursday July 07, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Friday July 8th at 10:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Dave Allen, Jeff Sorensen, Bob Phillips, Mark Wisman, Keven Raulerson and John Opyd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kristi Sorensen and Caitlin Sorensen.

Preferred memorials as gifts in Norma's memory may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
