Age 67 of Morris, formerly Griffith, Indiana, passed away Sunday October 20, 2019 at her home.

Born December 29, 1951 in Chicago, Pamela Lee was a daughter of Robert and Dorothy (nee Hahn) Ogden. She was raised and educated in Griffith, and graduated from Griffith High School. Pamela attended Joliet Junior College where she earned her Associates Degree, and on August 11, 1973 she married James Grant Childress in Crown Point, Indiana.

Pamela worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for six years before deciding to stay home and dedicate her life to raising her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, who took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and taking them to the movies. Pamela dedicated most of her time to her family, but she did enjoy going out to local flea markets searching for the next great find.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years: James Childress of Morris; one daughter: Tamara Haish of Glen Carbon, Illinois; two grandchildren: Toni Childress of Ewardsville, Illinois and Eric Haish of Morris; one great-grandchild: Tessa Nichelson, with one more expected in December; one brother: Mitchel Ogden of Palm Springs, California; two sisters-in-law: Deborah Ogden of Westville, Indiana and Ragina Childress of Robinson, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings: Robert Ogden and one in infancy.

Per Pamela’s wishes, flameless cremation rites have been accorded, and she will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville, Iowa with her mother.
