Age 82 and a lifelong resident of Morris, Illinois, died on Saturday, April 30, 2022 peacefully at her home.

Born February 7, 1940 in Morris, Illinois, Patricia Josephine was a daughter of Raymond and Jennie Ann (Krzysciak) Aspel. She was raised in Morris; attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Morris Community High School.

Pat bartended for the family business, Bud’s Tap and most recently held employment with Morris Hospital from 1988 until her retirement in 2013. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris; in her youth enjoyed roller skating, and throughout the years took pleasure in bowling. Pat was an exceptional cook and baker, and will be remembered for her Christmas cookies, as well as her fudge.

Survivors include her four children: Ronald (Holly) Sage of Dayton, Illinois, Kathy Sage (Rick) Borella and Thomas (Jenny) Sage, both of Morris and Gary (Maricris) Cain of Florida; nine grandchildren: Bill Sage, Samantha Whalen, Taryn Cain, Courtney Munis, Julia and Hunter Cain, Dylan and Emily Sage, and Bobby Vasek; brother, Raymond (the late Beverly) Aspel and sister, Mary Rae (Gordon) Niznik, both of Morris, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and several aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service 10:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Jason Stone presiding.

Pat will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Morris alongside her parents in the Aspel family lot at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Pat’s memory to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 514 E. Jackson Street in Morris, IL 60450 or to Father Flanagan’s Boys Town, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
