Age 85, of Wilmington, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on September 24, 1940, Patricia Ann was the daughter of Pasquale and Dorothy (Jackson) Carrara. She was raised and educated in Chicago and graduated from Austin High School with the Class of 1958. Pat worked for Johnson & Johnson for over 15 years as a packager before retiring.

Pat dedicated much of her time and energy to volunteering with the Illinois Alaskan Malamute Rescue Association, where she gave over 25 years of service. She had a deep love for animals and was known for rescuing all kinds, welcoming not only cats and dogs, but also chickens and other farm animals into her care. In addition to her love for animals, Pat enjoyed traveling and visiting family in California. She enjoyed spending time at the Braidwood Recreation Club, and spent many cherished moments with family at the Crow’s Nest.

Patricia is survived by her two children: Laura A. (Craig) Ioanou Price of Burbank, California, and Julie L. (Jerry) Mass of Braidwood, Illinois; her grandchildren: Meghan (Chase) Mass Kanoski, Cody (Bruna) Mass, Maxwell Ioanou Price, and Izabel Ioanou Price, Jennifer (Jesse) Dahlke, and Jesse (Breanna) Faude; as well as several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her close friend, Virginia Catigano; her beloved dog, Eva; and her grand puppies, Hooch, Lemmy, and Puck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank J. Kral, Jr.; her sister, Margaret Parish; her close friend, Lorrayne Burch; and her cherished pets: Misty, Teddy, Cowboy, Sheila, Shorty, and Izzy.

Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s name to the Illinois Alaskan Malamute Rescue Association or Uplifted Care Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at a later date in July.
