Patricia Ann Tucker
Age 93 of Diamond, Illinois and formerly of Carbon Hill and Coal City, died peacefully on Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, at Alden Estates of Shorewood.
Born on September 3, 1932, in Joliet, Illinois, Patricia Ann was the daughter of William and Ann (Korelc) Perry. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1950.
Patricia married Jack Major, and together they built a loving home and raised their family. Jack preceded her in death in 1967. In 1969, she married Fred Tucker, and they shared 29 wonderful years together until his passing in 1998.
Pat worked for several years as a police dispatcher for the Village of Coal City and was devoted to her role as a homemaker. Later in life, she found great enjoyment assisting at Major School of Dance, where she treasured the opportunity to support and encourage young dancers. A faithful member of Coal City United Methodist Church, Pat was a woman who deeply valued family. She especially cherished attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, performances, and activities, taking great pride in their accomplishments and creating lasting memories with them.
Pat will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her caring nature, and the joy she found in supporting those she loved most.
Survivors include her children: Loretta (Roy) Ryan of Plainfield, Illinois, Perry (Mary Jo) Major of Coal City, and Patti (Mitch) Bailey of Coal City; Grandchildren: Jason Ryan of Plainfield, Jonathan (Amy) Ryan of Minooka, Illinois, Joshua (Trish) Ryan of Redondo Beach, California, Ryan (Kerrin) Bailey of Diamond, Todd (Danielle) Bailey of Chicago and Tricia (Matt) Hall of Coal City; great grandchildren: Bennett and Brock Bailey, Caleb and Emersyn Hall, Lyla and Jack Ryan and Blake Ryan.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack Major and second husband, Fred Tucker.
Cremation rites have been accorded and Pat will be laid to rest between Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet and Braceville-Gardner Cemetery alongside her first and second husbands at a later date.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Pat’s memory to Coal City Food Pantry, the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road, Coal City, IL 60416, or the Coal City Fire Department, 35 S De Witt Pl, Coal City, IL 60416.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Pat’s caregivers: At Home Care and the staff at Morris Hospital, Alden Estates and Lightways Hospice.
