Age 70 of Morris, Illinois, died Friday, October 24, 2025 at his residence.

Born January 27, 1955 at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Raymond was a son of Ray, Sr. and Marion Kernica. He worked for Dominicks Foods for over 40 years until his well earned retirement. Ray was very devoted to his family, taking many trips all over with his parents to casinos, and caring for his mother during her battle with cancer and living with his father during his final years. He shared many fond memories with his father watching the Chicago Bears and, along with his brother, playing countless rounds of golf. Ray and his brother shared a love of history and tracking down answers to any question that came to mind. He was a considerate brother-in-law and uncle who considered his family as dear friends. Ray struggled with his own health in the past few years, but was a man of strong faith with a loving family that cared deeply for anyone that came into his life.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Sally Kernica, and his niece, Carolyn Kernica, and he was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ray and Marion.

Family and friends will gather at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson Street, in Morris for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.
