Renee Shipman

Age 75 of Diamond and formerly of Goose Lake and Chicago, passed away Friday morning, March 6, 2020 at her home.

Born April 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, Renee Winifred was one of eleven children born to Clinton Francis and Lucille Pearl (Murphy) Paraday. She was raised and educated in Chicago, and on May 19, 1962, Renee married George “Frank” Shipman in Blue Island, Illinois.

Survivors include two sons, Frank (Jenn) Shipman of Morris and Daniel Shipman of Diamond; six grandchildren: Jason Shipman of Coal City, Heather Shipman of Ottawa, Kassandra “Boo” Shipman of Coal City, Danny Shipman and Corey Shipman, both of Arizona, and Colby Shipman of Coal City; one great grandchild, Caden Shipman; siblings: Randy (Joanie) Paraday, Gregory Paraday, Terry Paraday, Keith Paraday and Debbie (Mitch) Gilbert; sister-in-law Billie Rose Russell of Antioch, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank on April 15, 2013; son, Michael Shipman on June 14, 2010 and siblings: Larry (Mary) Paraday, Brian Paraday, Lindy (Jimmy) Brush, Clinton “Junior” Paraday and Wayne (Vicki) Paraday.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Reverend Robert Noesen, pastor of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City will preside.

Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington, where Renee will be laid to rest with her husband and son.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Renee’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
