Rita Balegno

RITA L. BALEGNO

Age 47 of Coal City, passed away Sunday June 18, 2006 at Morris Hospital.

Born November 26, 1958 in Joliet, Rita is a daughter of Margaret (Mollerskov) and the late Louis Balegno, Sr. She was raised and educated in Coal City, graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1976 and was previously employed by DeMert and Dougherty in Coal City. Rita enjoyed gardening, canning, woodworking and cooking.

Survivors include her mother Margaret; one son Steffen; one sister Karen (Mel "Tony") Vota and one brother Louis, Jr. (Sherri) Balegno, all of Coal City. Two nephews: Jonathon Vota and Andrew Vota and one niece Katie Balegno. One Uncle: Fred "Pete" Campbell of Minooka; Two aunts: Lil Hansen and Betty Mollerskov, both of Racine, Wisconsin and several cousins, as well as numerous friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her father in 2001.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2006 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Thursday June 22nd at 10:00AM in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Jonathan Vota, Andrew Vota, Katie Balegno, Mickey Montana, John Pissinis and Mel "Tony" Vota.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rita's memory to her family for distribution to local charities of their choice.

Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Coal City.
