Ronald Jack Mayfield

Age 77 of Morris, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his home.

Ron was born to Emma and Jack Mayfield on January 19, 1947 in Wilmington, Illinois. Ron was active in sports throughout his childhood years, and graduated from Wilmington High School. Professionally, Ron worked as an engineer at Loder Croklaan USA for most of his adult life. He was an expert woodworking craftsman and an enthusiastic motorcyclist.

Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Mayfield; two sons: Buck and Brett Mayfield, and six grandchildren; two sisters: Linda (Patrick) Nolan and LouAnn Himes.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother, Terry Mayfield; and his brother-in-law, Bobbie Himes.

Per Ron's wishes, cremation rites are being accorded.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block north of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Caleb Counterman of Faith Baptist Church in Morris.
