Age 68, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, formerly of Bourbonnais, Illinois and Dolton, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Nashville.

Born August 5, 1952 in Mattoon, Illinois, Ronald Eugene was the son of Clarence and Frances (Veech) Onyett.  He was raised and educated in Dolton and graduated from Thornridge High School in 1970.  Ronald went on to honorably serve in the United States Army.  He later graduated from DeVry University and worked in telecommunications until retiring to Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Ronald had a passion for animals, and was an avid Harley fan, spending his retirement in Tennessee so he could ride his Harley for more of the year.

Survivors include his mother, Frances Onyett of Boise, ID; daughter, Melanie (Dan Vicory) Onyett of Romeoville; three grandchildren: Kristina of Glendale Heights, IL, Savannah and Tyler Vicory of Romeoville; three sisters: Sherri (Al) Loya of Boise, ID, Dian Cenar of Boise, ID, and Caryn (Jay) Kappenman of Sioux Falls, SD; nephews and niece: Jim (Daryl) Kappenman, Will (Amanda) Kappenman, and Liz Kappenman, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence; grandparents: Clarence (Anna) Onyett, and Edmund (Mary) Veech, and his brother-in-law, Bob Cenar.

Per Ronald’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. He will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois with full military Honors. Deacon Milt Leppert will preside.  Following the cemetery services, the family will gather and receive friends at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington for a memorial visitation from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
