Rose Marie Livingston

Age 89 of Marseilles, Illinois and formerly of Ohio, died November 28, 2022 at Aperion Care of Marseilles.

Born April 10, 1933 in Belpre, Ohio, Rose Marie was a daughter of Warder Liel and Katherine Jane (Barber) Owens. She was raised in Belpre before moving to Dayton, Ohio where she attended Col. White High School. On November 19, 1949, Rose married Robert L. Livingston in Dayton and together they made a home and raised a family.

Rose worked initially for Bell Telephone Company in Dayton, but later held employment as an office nurse and receptionist with Dr. Thomas Siehl in Dayton, as well as Dr. Satyanarayana in Celina, Ohio. She was active with scouts and served as a Scout Leader in Dayton; was past president of the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion in Celina, OH; bowled on a league in Celina and always enjoyed having a hoot with her friends in the her Bridge Club. Rose was extremely talented and that showed in her needlework and dress making skills, from which her young granddaughters benefited. She loved playing Scrabble and Yahtzee with family, especially when she was winning, and Rose’s green thumb tended to her plants with care.

Remembered for creating fabulous and memorable meals, Rose was a wonderful host. Her family was her everything, and that is what Rose held in her heart and mind until the end. Grandmothers are truly precious and Rose leaves behind a legacy of being the most feisty, funny, brutally honest, beautiful, best pie making, baby holding, cheek smooching grandma to ever walk the earth. Gone from our sight, she will forever live in the hearts of those lucky enough to be loved by her, as she was loved by many.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca (Sam) Wilcock of Ottawa, Illinois; nine grandchildren: David (Karen) Redelberger of Hillard, Ohio, Charley (McKibben) Wilcock and Jason Livingston of Middletown, Pennsylvania, Jeremy (Jennifer) Livingston of Hyden, Kentucky, Jim (April) Wilcock of Coal City, Illinois, Dick (Amber) Wilcock of Fairbanks, Alaska, Emiliana Valdez of Celina, Ohio, Katy (Aaron) Thompson of Champaign, Illinois, and Brittany (Garret) Johnson of Morris, Illinois; (17) great grandchildren: Chelsea Livingston, Ethan and Michael Redelberger, Elena Dawn Richards, AnaLisa Maddox, Xander Valdez, Nova, Juno and Zeke Noel, Jackson and Olivia Wilcock, Evander and Adia Wilcock, Alex Hawthorne, Henry and Sammy Thompson and Orla Johnson; and many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as special friends: Ilona Zizelman of Rockford, Ohio and Nella Lohr of Independence, Missouri.
